Hi there! I’m Garry Gabot.

The founder and creator of Lutong Pamilya – a blog born from my passion for authentic Filipino cooking and sharing the warmth of our culinary heritage with the world.

Lutong Pamilya started as a humble way to preserve the recipes I grew up with – the comfort foods of my childhood, the festive dishes of town fiestas, and the soulful meals cooked by my parents and elders. Each recipe I share comes with a story, a memory, and a deep sense of love. Whether it’s a simple adobo or a celebratory lechon, I believe that food is more than sustenance – it’s a connection to home, culture, and family.

Now living in the UK, I realised the importance of keeping our traditions alive, especially for the next generation of Filipinos abroad. Through this blog, I aim to help busy kababayans, overseas workers, and food lovers everywhere recreate the flavours of the Philippines in their own kitchens. I also showcase modern twists and healthy takes on classic dishes, ideal for families juggling work, life, and everything in between.

Thank you for being part of the Lutong Pamilya journey. Join me as we cook, learn, and celebrate the rich flavours of Filipino cuisine – one dish at a time.

My Food Philosophy – Lutong Pamilya

At Lutong Pamilya, I believe food is more than just nourishment – it’s a connection to home, family, and culture. Every dish I cook carries memories of the Philippines, stories from my childhood, and the warmth of Filipino hospitality.

I honour the traditional recipes passed down through generations, while adding modern twists that suit today’s busy lifestyle. Whether it’s a simple adobo or a festive lechon kawali, I aim to make each meal easy, practical, and full of heart – perfect for families at home or abroad.

As a nurse, trader, and Filipino business owner in the UK, I value balance – and my cooking reflects that: soulful yet simple, flavorful yet accessible. For me, food is a way to preserve our roots, bring joy to others, and keep the taste of home alive in every kitchen.
